First Pontiac

Hello All

Drug home a 59 Wagon last week. Went with a friend to check out a lift for sale a week ago Saturday. Turned out it was just around the corner at a guys place that had been collecting cars for a long time, about 150 in total. As he had passed away all the cars where being liquidated. I missed out on some other really cool cars but the Pontiac caught my eye as well as one other car.

I'm always drawn in by cars that not many other people have, even though they always cost more to restore. Been searching the net for info and a few parts. Was very glad to find this site. Nothing like talking to people that have already experienced much of what I will be going through on this car.

The car is probably between a 3 & a 4 in condition but almost every thing is there. Would post a few pictures if I new how, will have to have my daughter help me.

Most important thing missing at this point are the hood hinge springs. Anyone have a suggestion where i might find some? Where would be the best place on the forum to post a message about the springs.

Welcome to the site AV. Sounds like you got a good deal. Post some pics when you can. I haven't check the sites for hinges, but Ames has some 59 parts, as does Performance Years, and Indiana Pontiacs will have some used parts he can remove and send you.

Great find! The body looks pretty solid from the pictures. Enjoy the rebuild and keep posting if you need anything or have questions.
