A little update.... after last spring I found both heads are cracked I decided to look for a replacemnent pair.. Unluckly I was not able to locate any correct casting 1959 heads, but I found three 1960 ones. They should be easily modified to fit and work with all the 1959 components It took me a lot of time to get them surface shipped from USA to Italy but I finally got them last week I'll check them out with the machine shop guy and choose the best pair.
I'll post some pictures soon

gtotiger..... The 1960 heads will fit perfectly. Your machinist needs to remove the cooling tubes from the 1959 heads and install them in the 1960 heads. My own original engine has 1960 heads. Why?...I don't know, but thankfully whoever did it, reused the 1959 cooling tubes. 1960 engines did not use the reverse cooling system. Without the cooling tubes, you will probably have overheating issues......John

Good job Vittorio,
Be careful not to increase the compression ratio. Because the current fuels cause detonation problems. When ratios are greater than 10/1.

Thank you Jean-Marc the heads surface was not too damaged by rust so they have just been lightly mlled I just need a few different freeze plugs to have them ready to be installed...

The engine is really beautiful, beautiful work.
I see you have a lot of work on the bodywork. Be brave.

wow! she is very rusty. Are not you afraid that it is deformed? If you need photos or dimensions to rebuild, ask me.

Hi Jean Marc roof, firewall and center floor are solid so it shouldn't be deformed. even the upper part of both rocker panels are solid anyway before painting I will install the body on the frame complete with doors and fenders so I can check everything before painting I'll probably ask you some pictures of some crucial rusty areas if my sheetmetal man needs them thank you!!
