59 Air Cleaner

Anyone have a picture or description of where on the air cleaner the 389 2V decal should go?

I'm not too sure that they had a decal on the 2 barrel air cleaners. They had the AC decal on the side like the 4 barrels did. Is this the decal you're talking about?



Other than that I don't think they had a decal.

Interesting.....you may be right. It may not have had one like what I have.
The decal I have is curved like it must fit inside the contour of the indentation in the top of the air cleaner. It says 389 2V. I do not have the decal you are showing in your picture.

Sounds like you have a mid to late 60s air cleaner decal. Is your air cleaner the same as the one pictured?

The air cleaner I have looks the same and I am pretty sure it is the original. I guess it did not come with the 389 2V sticker?

I know GM used that same 2 barrel air cleaner on Chevys and Buicks, and Olds and probably everything else from 58??? until maybe 63. As far as I know, none of those air cleaners came with a decal on the top. I think Buick had the wildcat decal on the "horn" part but i dont think it said anything.

I may be wrong, I'm just going from what I remember seeing.

My original 2bbl air cleaner looks exactly like the one in your picture with the AC sticker on the side. No stickers on top.
