| I've been pondering a hitch for mine someday. I would love to get one of those old tear drop campers to pull behind on road trips. | |

| My plan is to paint this old camper in a two tone, using white and same green color as the car - i'm trying to talk the whife into letting me paint it. The camper is an old german 'KNAUS 530 MUSTANG' - several mustang fans have been after me to buy it - funny it should end up with me since i'm absolutly not a mustang fan. I'ts a 1979 model. Of course the ideal camper for me would be a large airstreamer, but they are too large and too heavy to be made roadlegal here. | |

| A video from the german autobahn taken by a friend of mine - i went of the throttle after passing him. It was shot this summer. I think i passed him doing about 100 mph - this was at a section of the autobahn that still has no speed limit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbjT-CDaGzs | |

| I don't know the actual topspeed, but i have had it at 195 km/h (about 120 mph i think) on my GPS - and it was uphill on the freeway - rocksteady on my original suspension. When the video was taken i had the whole family in the car though, so i kept it at full throttle for a very limited time only. The kids enjoyed it more than my wife though . I should point out that i don't do this on a regular basis, but sometimes you get curious, and wonder if it's still got it !. And this is just a standard 2 brl - i can't help but wonder how it feels to let loose those dual quads . | |

| It's gunna feel great! I don't plan on taking it on any 100+ highway runs though...maybe.
It's gunna be geared pretty low so the top speed possible would probably only be like 120 with 3.64 gears and 26.5" tires which is what I will be running. I don't really want to go any faster than I can do in a 1/4 which should be 90-100mph. It's all about the acceleration for me.
My truck does 115 like nothin. That's what I have my limiter set at. It's too fast for me. haha | |

| I agree - it's much to dangerous anyway in a 50 year old car, and feeling the acceleration is what it is all about. Most of the time i'm crusin at max 75 mph or so... Speaking about danger - has anyone tryed having a main lightswitch failure at a dark country road with no streetlights, doing about 65 mph in a soft curve . That actually happend to me last year, and has to be the most scary experience iv'e had with my pontiac. It was lige having a black bag pulled over the head, and only good luck saved me, as massaging the switch quickly revived the lights. | |
