| The 283 is nice for parts availablility and hop ups but isn't the extra 106 cubic inches a nice perk? Though it did come with the chubby in it, I'd put poncho power in it. But you know how opinions are..... Anyways, nice ride 59canadianponcho! | |

| haha I think there are aftermarket Pontiac blocks than can get you up to 500 cubes.
Upon second thought, I'd put a 389 or 421 in it with a 4 speed...
But when you buy an old car and it runs good, it's hard to say "no im gunna take the time and put a different motor in it" All you want to do is cruise it. | |

| thx for posting the pix for me. I would love to put a 455 in it but i cant see putting that kind of money in an engine that big just for a cruiser. I have a 305 from my trans am still so maybe in a couple yrs i will rebuild it and put that in. The 283 runs good and it only has 36,562 miles on it. I bought it from the second owner and the first owner was a couple who were farmers from northern ontario who used it for church and thats about it. The roof was originally white but with the black body it was too police car lookin for me. The interior was originally green so i put in a green carpet and painted the dash and roof the same color. This way down the road i can paint the car green again without re-doing the interior. I still need the seats covered but mexican blankets will do fine for me. Thanks for the kind words guys and i will send more pix soon. | |

| They look like anyone with acess to a lathe could make a pair without too much trouble - just in case you can't find a decent pair... | |

| Yeah, they don't look too difficult. I wouldn't care if they were perfect either | |
