1959 Pontiac Star Chief Sport Sedan (PICS)

Last week, I enjoyed an extensive telephone conversation with the owner of the beautiful 1959 Pontiac Star Chief Sport Sedan in the accompanying photos.

The Sport Sedan below is a mostly original car with a single respray and the addition of a Tri-Power set-up to the 389 V8. Subsequent to the photos, the correct '59 Pontiac Tri-Power emblems have been added to the front fenders. The car's owner was 18-years old when the '59's were introduced, and his best friend's parents had a new Bonneville, which was the cruising car of choice around Juneau, Alaska. Over the years, many Pontiacs have found their way into the owner's stable -- mostly the '55, '56, and '57 models.

I look forward to seeing this car on the road during next year's '59 General Motors tour in my area.

Centurion, that sure is an amazing car. I love the color combination and the engine is something to behold. Where does this beauty live?

This was originally a California car, but it now resides in the northwest corner of Washington state, near the Olympic National Park.

Centurion: I have a set of Tri-Power emblems that I obtained for my 1959 Bonneville but I do not have data or a pattern to locate the holes for mounting clips. If you could inquire of the owner of this Starchief about any tech data he may have used I would greatly appreciate it. Granted he may have had a factory car for a pattern but in my area of South Georgia I know of no other '59 with Tri-Power emblems.
