Seat belt install

I'm wondering if anyone has attempted to install lap belts in their 59 (4 door or wagon). My upholsterer tells me theres probably no way we'll be able to fish the belts through the seat as the base and back are continuous. Certainly the sheer weight of the wagon is its biggest safety feature, but I wouldnt mind front belts anyway!

I installed belts in the back - bolted through the bottom. Use extremely large and fat washers and high strength bolts !!!!!.
I skipped the front seats for now, since i could not get around cutting slots for getting the belts through. I remember that somwhere on the forum someone shows pictures of a front seat installation. I may try to do somthing about it this winter, but for now i am just happy to be running again.

Has anyone installed front belts? I have my rears in but Im not sure how Im getting my belts through the front seat.

markymark.....you have to cut slits in the fabric between the upper and lower seat. This is how the dealers would have done it. Maybe you can find some stick-on fabric to reinforce the slits on either side to keep them from tearing further......John

I put 3 points seat belt in my cat : 3 rd attach , for the shoulder , start from the rear cushion hole : no problem , I can put pic if anyone interest. And more safety drive !

We didn't have a Ford with that roofline in the states. Front fenders look the same. I'm curious of the model name....

Front is 59 , but 4 doors and rear roof is like fairlane victoria 57 ?? Perhaps I' ll meet the guy next months ...

This may or may not help since my car is a 2 door convertible.  After market belts for front seat installation was fairly straight forward, heavy bolts and washers in floor pan with belts "fished" thru between bench seat and folding back rest. The rear seats were a bit more involved because the bench seat had to be locked in... and then same as front with heavy bolts and washers with belts "fished" between the bench seat and back rest.
