| I finally pulled my generator and took it apart. The armature has shorted out , so i guess i will have to look for another one. I need the model with ballbearing at both ends. Meanwhile i have converted to an alternator - found an opel alternator that works with minimum work (fabrication of a small bracket from a piece of flat iron) - it works fine, but i do like the look of the stock generator. | |

| I know. On my Firefox I have shortcuts to all my forums and stuff but not one for ebay. My ex was always like "why don't you have one for ebay? You have one for everything else" BECAUSE IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE | |

| Hell yeah - i am currently changing bank, and i just bought the new shop, so i really don't know exactly where i am. I had stayed away from e-bay for a while, and a guy at work asked me how i got parts for my Pontiac. I had to show him, and the first thing that jumped up in my face was hijackers for 59 pontiac - the only reason i didn't jump on it right away was 'no overseas shipping'. A friend of mine just told me about a company that recives shipments, and re ship overseas - he says it is fairly cheap, so i wonder if it is worth a try - i really want these hijackers before out summervacation trip.... | |

| Those rear shocks with adjustable airpressure to adjust the ride hight (it's hanging rather low when the trailer is on). I always thought hijackers were an american expression - it's been used here for as long as i remember. My friend has a set on his 68 buick skylark, and it works perfect for this purpose. Problem is that european trailer philosophy is quite different from american. For some reason american trailerchassises can't be approved here. Our system relies on a different ball size, and we run a decent amount of ball pressure (up to 50 kg). My hook sits a little low as it is, and this all means that i have to run an empty (or only with the lightest stuff) trunk, in order to clear even moderate speedbumps - which in turn sucks . I always wanted an airstreamer or the such, but those stupid rules means they have to be converted to a european chassis, and all the f...ing paperwork has to be done. Buttom line : it is rediculously expensive - like in more expensive than a brand new trailer with all the bells and whistles - but maybe some day......By the way, do anyone know what a decent airstreamer (ok, i know that is a ridiculous term) costs in the US ? | |

| No idea on an airstream but that is total bs about the chasis deal. I'd be willing to bet that american chassis are stronger than most euros...especially an old Pontiac | |

| Hell yeah - we only use one ball size on the hook, and it is smaller than they american type - the heaviest trailers is 3500, but they require a special license if the combined weight exeeds 3500 kg (car + trailer). With the pontiac weighing 2000 kg, and mandatory 300 for passengers (that is actually a little lower than allowed), that leaves only 1200 kg for trailer, which is exactly what my old 79' knaus weighs. | |

| Damn yall get screwed
My truck weighs about 5200 lbs, my 8'X20' trailer weighs at least 3500 lbs and the most I have towed was a 79 F250 extended cab long bed which probably weighed at least 7000 lbs. That's a lot of weight, especially for a half ton truck. I'm not sure if that was legal or not but I don't think anyone really cares | |

| Well, that would properbly mean a revoked license if you get caught doing that here . | |
