He threw in 2 mostly complete sets of metric and SAE 1/2" sockets and wrenches (flank drive), an adjustable wrench, another F80 ratchet and another screwdriver. All the missing sockets and wrenches I had already from some Snappy stuff I picked up in pawn shops.

Damn, those are some serious scores in a short period of time. Maybe you should try pushing your luck a wee more and buy a lottery ticket.

Tools are addictive. That's why I don't go to pawn shops or cruise craigslist anymore. haha

Tools, vinyl records and cars are way too addictive.

Great scores Jay!

I went to a pawn shop and bought this for $400

BRAND NEW. Guy bought it and lost his job that day. Never had a tool in it.

I got a bunch of sockets too to fill some gaps and my wife got a $2000 tennis bracelet for $150.

That's a lot like the Matco box I have. I paid $375 for mine in really good shape but not as good as that snap on!

Picked up a Blue Point 1/4 air ratchet today for $10. Pawn shop said it didn't work. I took it home, put some machine oil in it and hooked it to the air, little fucker about took my fingers off, it's got some bad ass torque for a 1/4!

HELLS YEAH!

Let me know if you find a good deal on a 1/2 or 3/8 click type torque wrench Matco or Cornwell or Snap-On. Preferably Snap On 1/2"

I figure I better get a good one before I put Kelseys motor together

I'll keep a look out.

I did recently see a nearly new CDI 1/2" for $70 and I'll try to remember where. CDI is made by Snap On.

My C-Man Digitork does pretty well. And is accurate for a click type.

I need to calibrate my other C-Man torque wrench. I hate to give it up. My first torque wrench, bought it with birthday money when I was 8.

Blue point is also made by snap on but some of it isn't USA made. My tin snips and a pair or my vice grips are blue point made in taiwan. I would have much rather spend my money on the real Vice Grips brand if I had known that.

Find any cars to build yet? That guy that has my Buick is trying to sell it back to me. haha I guess he can't sell it for the 6,500 he thought he could.

And since Stanley closed the Sabina, Ohio plant, all of Mac is made overseas now.

That Proto above is made in the USA and the quality is up there with Snap On, in fact, many European automakers recommend using Proto in their US repair shops. You know how the Europeans have very close tolerances.

Don't overlook GearWrench, Wright or Armstrong either. All quality made in USA wrenches and can usually be had for cheap.

I am considering one of these. Made by Matco in the U.S.A. for the Chinese market. Only thing is that it's in metric. But $64 for a brand new Matco torque wrench is a steal. I'll do the conversion from n.M to ft. lbs myself for that... hahah

haha you'd get good at conversions after a while

I hated conversions in my physics classes. We did them all by hand. feet/sec to miles/hour, miles to centimeters etc etc screw that

My wife and I went to some estate sales and I saw this tucked away in a corner with some other tools. Got this, the sockets, a pair of SO slip joint pliers, a nice Starrett depth gauge, Fluke multimeter and a Cresent ratchet for $5. The multimeter is $200+ new.
