| Well guys. I found this for my gasser build. I wanted to do the '59 or '60 Catalina but this popped up and for the money it really fits the build. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvoeeq-BH4w This is really solid and the owner really wanted to get it out of his yard so he offered it to me for $1600, I couldn't pass it up. I just wanted to thank you all for welcoming me into the fold here, and I will be dropping in once in a while to see what's happening. I'm still going to be on the lookout for a '59 or a '60 if one should come up that's affordable. It's been great being part of the group here. Be good and we'll talk down the road. I'll shoot a couple of pics as I build the gasser if you're interested. Mark L | |

| I'll get some better pics when i get it home. Whoever modified the frame did a really great job on it. They grafted on a chevelle front stub and did a long lower trailing arm/short top arm rear suspension. The bottom arms are like th eones on mid 70 chevy pick ups. I don't want this kind of suspension, I want to do the gasser look. I already have the front I-Beam axle and nice 9 inch reinforced rearend. I'm going to build my own frme. I will be putting this frame out for sale, I may get what I paid for the whole car just for the frame. Again will get some shots when I can. Thanks for showing the interest guys. It is much appreciated. Mark L | |

| Hey Robert, the next door neighbor just told me her uncle saw the '40 and may be interested in buying it. I told her a price almost double what I paid, still waiting to hear anything from them. If it sells I'm back looking for a '59/'60 Catalina again. Can't get them out a my head. Mark L | |

| 59s are fine cars the '60s are cool but not quite a 59! haha Hey did you talk to the new member on here selling the 59 star chief 2 door sedan? I wanted that car so bad but just couldnt bring myself to buy another one just yet. He was asking 3K I think and I think he's in Arizona Mark, here's what I got going on now '30 model A chopped back in the day, good solid body, no dents, only needs a few patches, pillars need a lot of work and the body need to be squared up but not bad for being 80 years old Planning on '59 Pontiac powered 389 stroker (maybe) tri power 4 speed pontiac/olds rear end 3.23 locker, cheater slicks, 61-64 GM buckets all kinds of good shit | |

| Playing around a little and positioned the tire I plan to use on it in the wheelwells, just tires no rims. https://2img.net/h/i601.photobucket.com/albums/tt97/marks73turbota/AnnieandtheForty015.jpgStill deciding on doing the '40 or finding what I really want. I did determine that the '40 could come in really light weight compared to a '60 or'59, even after I make my own frame on the '59-'60. And I'm all about fast so the weight could make a difference. Mark L Sorry I just realized that I already posted the pic on the other post. Just consider this post deleted!!! Heh. Mark l

| Forgot to mention. I was contacted by a gentleman out East in Delaware. He wants my TA and we came to an agreement on price. He plans to get it in 5-7 weeks. At that point I can really sit done, spin the roulette wheel on what I'm going to do. Continue with the '40 or sell it and find what I really want, '59-'60 Catalina. I found a '57Pontiac 4 door wagon up near Reno, contacted him about a trade for the '40, made an offer that they replied to with a counter offer. But when it came down to it, I still would not have what I want, so I broke off the deal. So back to the '40 or buy something once I have the money. That '59 I posted could be the ticket. But would have to add in the transport costs which I've heard are going thru the roof now. Anywho, just an update. Mark L | |

| AS THE WORLD TURNS. Well guys I'm afraid I missed the fun of owning a '59--again. But I got a good one anywho. Found this locally and the owner just accepted the deal. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/cto/1583452756.htmlIf you look closely the car is rust free. The only rust is a surface rust scrape on the roof a ittle surface rust on the front end on some edges. And a little around the roof to quarterpanel seam where the trim holds moisture. I'll get good pics when I get it home. I used the '40 Olds that I was originally going to build into a gasser and a Toyota Supra body that I was trying to sell. For a guy from WI this '63 as far as I can tell rust free. BUT, the interior is completely trashed. I can probably use everything for pattens but the original is shot. Alot easier than sheet metal reapir, OHH YAAA!!!. It too could become a gasser. But I have to see what fits a '63 better. Might end up like that '59 video I sent you guys to look at. The black one at the strip. I have a bead on a full 6-71 set up that would fit right on the 400 I originally built for turbocharging. That would be wild. But for the street a twin turbo would be more practical. Pics later. Mark L P.S. My first modification will be making the front end a tilt front like I did on the '63 I owned in '73. | |

| I saw that 63. Definitely a nice body. The body on mine wasn't that nice but it did have buckets, 3 speed on the floor and 8 lugs and I only got $1400 for it | |
