glpage…..what's wrong with yours? They are very easy to rebuild with a good modern kit. Mike Wasson makes and sells the best kits. Contact him at Pontiactripower.com. He also will do rebuilds if you don't want to do it. If you are missing the carb altogether, they sometimes show up on Ebay. Problem is that, if the seller took it off a Tri-power car, they want a small fortune for it, and they have to be rebuilt anyway. As you know the center carb was smaller than the ends, and most normal 2bbl equipped engines. The good news is that all Tri-Power engines from 1959 thru 1965, used basically the same center carb. They generally have different part numbers, and some minor variations between years and manual or automatic transmissions, but look and work the same. The 1966 Tri-Power engines (the last year for Tri-Power) had the larger 2bbl that will not fit our manifolds. The secret that not everyone knows, is that the economy engines also used a variation of the small 2bbl. The 1959 and 1960 economy engines (420E) used them, and I think a few additional years also. The way to Identify them is by the placement of the choke housing. If the housing is mounted at the base of the carb, with a link rod going up to the choke plate, it's the normal (larger) 2bbl, and can't be used. If the housing is mounted to the air horn at the top of the carb, it's the correct smaller one. Hope this helps…..John

I used to have a 59 GMC motor that used the small 2 barrel carb on it.
