Oil Pan Empty
PostSubject: Oil Pan   Oil Pan EmptyWed Apr 08, 2015 4:56 pm

I need to drop the oil pan.

Question. Can you drop the oil pan without pulling the motor/lifting the motor. Is there enough clearance at the pickup get it out and re-installed, and get the gasket right.

Need to check the pickup screen, car sat for many years and now has a tapping sound.

Thanks for any input.

Ben

I don't think there is enough room. Did you give it a shot?

I've tried it to replace a leaky rear main seal. You can drop the pan about an inch or two without lifting the motor but the front saddle is too close to drop it further.

I figured. Was that enough to do the rear main though?
