Jim.....Been a long time since I had a hardtop, but I think the headliner is held up by rods that go from side to side through pockets sewn into the back of the material. Each rod is different so they need to be kept in order. The clips that hold the rods are also specific to each rod. The reveal mouldings at the sides, front, and back hold the edges in place. Some 3M's upholstery glue might help to hold the edges while getting the mouldings back on. Most of the people who do this for a living, start at the back and work toward the front, from side to side, streching and triming as they go......John

Thanks John, Fisrt headliner I got from SMS was for a hardtop(their mistake) and not a Sedan. New one should be here next week. Over the winter I replaced the windlace myself and had the seats done at a upholster shop. Orig carpet(carpet on humps, rubber floor wells) was OK, but everytime I looked at it, I couldn't help thinking how nice a new molded carpet would look with embroided mats. So new carpet should be here next week. I think 3M super trim adhesive is what I'll use for the headliner above rear side windows and windshield. Everything I've read echos your instructions. I'll try not to make a mess with the cement. Jim
