Tire suggestions?

I had a blowout on my driver rear tire yesterday doing 50 mph. Nearly took the ol' girl off the road. The tires were old (but with few miles) so am now looking to replace the set. Doing some research on the internet I find that Coker and American Classic seem to be the brands that come up for radial tires with period 2 1/2" whitewalls. Can anyone else suggest their picks or experience with other makers? I'm not planning showing the car so would prefer radials for better driving and reliability.

I run the coker's - they are exelent, even at high speeds..

225/75/14 is the converted modern tire size for the wagon. Unfortunately, that size is extremely hard to come by now and Cooper is the only manufacturer, that I know of, who still makes them.

White walls are not cheap

Hell no, and imagine the freight costs ... but i don't regreet, as it was a substantial improvement of the overall look - it just improves the look 100 % i think. Only drawback is all the cleaning in order to keep them white..

Against my wallet's better judgment I ordered the Coker today. Thanks for your thoughts around making the selection. You might be interested to know that distributors are having a problem stocking Coker tires as a result of Denman (sp) bankruptcy that reportedly has the molds tied up in court. The distributors are just working through their inventory now and don't expect anything new from the manufacturer for a few months.
