| Rebel Without A Cause Hot Rods to Hell Hot Rod (1978 made for TV movie) Cannonball! Man, I love old hot rod type movies. I've got a 32" LCD and a hillbilly surround sound system, you'll have to come up some day and watch some movies. My wife loves Dazed and Confused. She grew up here in Austin in that time period and hung out at The Emporium. I had Top Notch a few weeks ago too. Ever seen "Catch Me...If You Can" from around 1989? My wife and I were watching "Panic In Year Zero" last night and there were quite a few 1959 GMs in it. Two Lane is the shit. My question is: Where the hell did they get the 4 wheel discs for that car?? That was unheard of for a street machine in 1970. Unfortunately, I just lost many of my movies I didn't get put on DVD due to a unk hard drive. - Quote :

| Hot Rod: Has Gregg Henry and Ed Begley Jr. A drag-racer enters a local championship race. However, he runs up against the town boss, a corrupt sheriff who has already made arrangements to ensure that his own son wins the race. Corny 70s movie but has a lot of hot cars. Cannonball!: With David Carradine. One of the first of the Cannonball movies and has 2 1973 Trans Ams among some other hot cars. Really good movie. Catch Me...If You Can - not to be confused with the Tom Hanks movie of the same name about 10 years ago. With Geoffrey Lewis and M. Emmit Walsh. The local high school is threatened to be closed, unless they collect $200,000. The students' president Melissa struggles to collect the money, but lacks the support from her fellow students. So she accepts when car fetishist Dylan suggests to bet on him in car races against underworld king Phatman. At first everything goes well - too well Cheesy 80s movie but some hot cars in it. Come on, you've seen Dazed and Confused with the drive in restaurant! That's over on Burnet Road and still open today! In the scene where Dennis Wilson is changing the tires on the '55, you can see that it has discs. | |

| i love dazed and confused! one of the best part is near the end of the movie when they are getting into matt McConaugheys car and he says "watch the leather man" with a funny kind of laugh. Dont know why, just like that part. That movie came out when i was in my last year of high school i think and i could really relate to just cruisin around, doing nothing but it was awesome, especially since i had the 79 trans am then, t-tops with the shaker hood, bird delete, and a VERY healthy chevy 305 in it, we used to call the mustang killer!! Good times! | |

| D&C was filmed here. Which is why my wife loves that movie but she hadn't seen it until we met in 2005. Then it became her favorite. She hung out at all the same places - The Emporium, the moon tower, cruising Burnet Road and eating at the Top Notch. | |

| Does anyone have the new Hot Rod Deluxe? On the cover, bottom left, That kid in front of the 6 deuce powered nailhead roadster, that's the kid and the car from the move The Choppers 1960 I believe. Pretty cool movie about kids that strip cars. There is a sweet 1959 Electra 225 convert and the cops use 59 Chevys | |
