59 wagons worth? Empty
PostSubject: 59 wagons worth?   59 wagons worth? EmptyMon Nov 02, 2009 11:29 pm

Did anyone see the white 59 Pontiac wagon for sale last week on e-bay? The body was pretty good (only some surface rust) but the motor was locked up, left rear passenger floor board rusted out, no keys to vehicle, no title, windshield busted, right front side window busted, and the interior needed much help. The wagon had been sitting for about 20 years so I'm sure the fuel and brake system are wasted as well. The starting bid was $999.00 and I bid $1009.00 but it didn't meet the reserve. I really want this car but figure it would take thousands to get it half right. I'm second guessing myself on whether I should have bid more. I stiill have the sellers name and phone number. My question is what do these wagons sell for in this condition. I want to build a nostalgia drag car using a 59 Pontiac wagon but can't bring myself to take a really clean wagon and turn it into a drag car as there seems to be so few of these cars. Your comments?

Idk, 1500 sounds like it would be a good deal if it had a good body.

Yea, guess there is not much difference between $1009.00 and $1500.00. Funny, when I got home last night there was an e-mail from a guy I talk to on a Buick board and he said remember that guy who has the 59 two door hard top Pontiac that I know, he now wants to sell it. This car has also been setting for years in a garage/barn and I don't know the condition of it or what the guy wants for it. I e-mailed the guy last night but have not heard back from him yet. I do know this car is only about 75 miles (just south of Nashville, Tn) from me and the wagon was about 200 miles each way. Guess I will see whats up with the two door car and go from there.

I had to turn the 59 wagon loose but I'm still chasing the 59 two door hardtop in Tn. The wagon needed even more than first quoated and the minimum the guy would take was $1700.00. I'm pig sick but thats how things go sometimes. Sad

Just incase anyone is interested the white 59 Pontiac wagon is for sale on craigslist, St Louis, Mo, for $1950.00 but the guy told me he would sell it for $1700.00 cash. The 59 two door hard top I was chasing after from just south of Nashville I guess is not for sale as the guy didn't answer my e-mails to him. I'm sure its going to be one of them "I'm going to fix it some day" and when the guy finally realizes he can't it will be nothing but a pile of rust and not saveable.
