| Dude Jim grab that thing... it does look like it needs some work... you can get parts from Original Parts Group for 59 Caddy's now so it should be to bad. Its either that or a $10k fully restored one tho.. not much middle ground for this old Caddyshack | |

| Wow, that's a pretty good deal even if it is pretty rough.
It's still no '59 Buick or '59 Pontiac haha

It's still no '59 Buick or '59 Pontiac haha You have those, I'd take one of them or I'll take a '59 Cadillac or '59 Chevy.

| there is a 59 cady for sale in windsor which is at the michigan, ontario canada border for i think $6500 and in great shape. As far as i can see it just needs some paint if you dont like primer gray. Has original seats and everything. Nice guy in i would say his seventies owns it. I will try and get pics next time im down that way. I dont think he has it listed anywhere. | |

| I agree. I love the styling. Muscle cars are cool and all but put a 70 Chevelle next to a '59 GM and that '59s styling blows that Chevelle out of the water. Look at all the chrome and all the details and all the cool dashes and gauges and the seats and everything.
If I ever got another big car besides a buick or Pontiac 1959 2 dr sedan, I'd get a 57-59 Desoto. I'd love to have one of those

| But seriously. The space-race era was the best. I honestly wish I were alive back then...From the music to the cars, I love it. | |

| I checked out a book from the library called Cars of the Fabulous '50s, and it coveres 1950 to 1959 american cars, and not just the Big Three but the other cool ones like Henry J and Studebaker and such, and its the coolest book to look thru. I've finally found my favorite era... call me a noob, but i finally got my back door windows to roll up and down, and i was so tickled at how they have to slide diagonal backwards in order to fit inside the door! (my cars a Vista in case your wondering) you just dont see neat little things like that anymore! the next car i think i'd like to get is a 55 Star Chief, 59 Studebaker Lark or if i'm lucky enough an early 50's Packard. the 50s made some magical cars this is a 59 Studebaker Lark 1955 Star Chief and one of my top favorites, 1958 Oldsmobile 98 wish they still went all out with making radical cars.. none of this Prius crap haha | |

| I totally agree - you just can't beat the 59's. If i have the resources for another recreational car again i think i would go with the 59 buick or chevy (but i'd prefer the buick). I've seen an electra in a Swedish car magazine - a 59 electra cap - mint condition - for sale - about 80000 $, but that is about as good as it gets in my opinion. | |

| Christian, There are a few '59 Buicks in Sweden. To me the '59 Buicks are the best flowing overall design. The fins on the front and back, the slanted headlights, the sweet dash, awesome grill, a lot of chrome and trim but not too much, 15" wheels from the factory and of course the nailhead/dynaflow combo.
I thought '56 was the first year for star chief???
I have that book you're talking about. My sister got it for me for christmas last year. It's pretty sweet
I also really like the 58/59 Lincoln Continental 4 door HTs.
