| Ok thanks, That really helps. I don't think my piece looks like that and it wouldn't work anyway because of my headers. I'll have to make my own piece I guess. thanks for the pics! | |

| Got the rear brakes finished. Now I'm ready for the brake lines
I kind of started trying to figure out how to mount the slave cylinder. I'm going to buy some 3/18 brake line to plumb it up here pretty soon.
I made a bracket for the clutch MC. I took a piece of spare 6" C purlin leftover from when we built our garage. I chopped 2 inches out of it and cut it down to 3" long and then made it 1/2" deep and then boxed it in. It came out pretty well. I've never made anything like that before. It was fun
I have a bigger tubing bender coming in soon so I can finish the front fuel lines. I need some more fitting before I can hook up my glass bowl fuel filter. I'm going to have to make a bracket to mount it. I haven't figured that out yet
I found a guy to put my posi in my 3.42 third member so I can drop that in soon too.
Hoping to get it on the road in a month or 2!

| I found a GM MC and 7" "dual booster" that supposed to fit "most 55-70 GM full size cars." The mounting bracket looks like it will work and the booster is only 7" in diameter so it should fit. The best deal I found to rebuild the stock booster was $140, I paid $159 for this with free shipping and the parts are supposed to be new not remans. I hope it works out.
Oh yeah, some of the MCs came with different size holes for the line nuts. The front one appears to be smaller. Can I just bush the rear one to make them the same size? I assume on a drum/drum car I want all the lines to be the same size. I'm not sure if this one has the different sized front and rear holes but some of them did.

| I got the fuel line plumbed all the way to the pump. I'm missing one last fitting to finish hooking it up to the dual fuel lines to the carbs. A long time ago I bought one of those AC glass bowl fuel filters like the Buicks had. I decided to use that. I think they look cool as hell. I don't know what it's for, it's a little bit different than the one on my Buick. So one more fitting and the fuel lines are done!
Oh yeah, does anyone know where I can get the gasket/grommet thing that seals the filler tube to the filler neck on the gas tank. I just have mine shoved in for now.
I made my little bracket for the clutch MC and got that all mounted up. I have the slave cylinder hooked to the clutch fork but I haven't mounted it to the cross member yet. I'm still trying to figure out what kind of mount to make for that. The only thing is I had to tilt the clutch MC slightly to clear the old booster. I think the new booster is slightly smaller so now my slightly tilted MC might look like a shitty fab job but I did it on purpose. I'll take a pic with the stock booster on it so you can see how it BARELY fits.
My new booster and MC still isn't here but I'm hoping I can get that soon. Then finish up the brake lines.
I got the new speedo cable in and it fits nicely. It's a stock hydramtic cable from Rock Auto. Fits perfect.
Once I get the SC mounted to the cross member I can plumb that up. I already bought the tubing for it. It shouldn't be that hard to plumb up. About 6' of 3/16 tubing.
Maybe I can get something done tomorrow. Hopefully friday at least.

| Oh yeah, I guess I had a 5/16 hose on a 3/8 nipple. That bitch did not want to come off. So like a dumb ass I pulled harder, it finally came off and I hit my elbow on the hood hinge. It hurt so bad I laughed. I've broken my arm before and it didn't hurt this bad. haha I hope I didn't chip a bone or something. It hurts like hell to straighten it or bend it. haha I feel like a pansy but this shit hurts | |

| Here is the clutch MC next to the stock booster/MC mocked up. I got the new booster in and the hole where the pushrod goes through the firewall need to be slightly enlarged since the push rod for this booster is a little bit higher than the stock one. I drove all around today trying to find the fitting I need for the fuel line. I got one at NAPA but it was the wrong one. haha I'm gunna try again tomorrow. Hopefully I can get the booster and MC mounted tomorrow and get the slave cylinder mounted too. | |

| And here's the fuel filter mounted and the booster and MC. I got the MC hooked to the pedal and everything. I'm going to work on getting the clutch pedal hooked to the MC next time. I had to flip the stock bracket for the booster and cut it in half and then drill another hole for the pushrod. I'm going to take it all apart and paint it black. That gold shit isn't cutting it for me. I'll probably buy another stick of 3/8 tubing. That's the piece I had left over from the front fuel lines. It's about an inch short of being perfect. haha Oh well, I think it looks cool. And never mind the wire mess. I'm slowly getting all the stuff routed out of the way | |

| It's dirty as hell right now. Hopefully I can DRIVE it out of the garage and wash it off. It's got metal shavings all over it from the headers and cutting the inner fenders out. Thanks though | |

| right now i'm just keeping it up and running, and replace the gaskets and seals that i need to, but if i decide to rebuild it thats the very last thing i'm going to do. cause compared to the rest of the car, the motor is is awesome shape. purres like a kitten. may need a tune up and such.. i'm gonna check the cap and points/rotor probably this afternoon after work just for the heck of it. but it really does run beautifully | |

| It's really not that much work to get it to look decent. I wish I would have taken more time cleaning the firewall but it does looks pretty good. Thanks guys | |

| I tried to hook up the slave cylinder today and I can't tell if it's binding or if it just doesn't travel enough to push the throw out bearing in all the way. I'm going to mount it different and see if I can make it work. | |

| Na, I'm pretty sure that's not it. I bled it like 3 times. I think it's binding up. I looked at it again last night and I'm pretty sure the angle isn't quite right. I got an idea though... | |

| Ok, Now I'm getting pissed off. I made a different linkage. The clutch fork is about 2-3" higher than the crossmember that I'm trying to mount it to. So I finally found some rod ends to give the linkage a little play so it wouldn't bind so easily. So I put the slave cylinder level, then a rod end, then a piece of 2-3" all thread through the hole in the rod end, then under it, I put another rod end and then one on the other side and then a bolt through that through the cross member. So it's clutch fork, slave cylinder, rod end, all thread to drop it a few inches. then rod end, then rod end mounted to the cross member. When the clutch is pressed in all the way, the throwout bearing is not engaged all the way and it is actually pushing the transmissions to the passenger side. SO I drilled another hole about an inch in from the first hole thinking maybe the angle wasn't quite right. Same thing as the other hole. Next time I'm going to drill a hole on the other side of the first hole. That was it will be for sure pulling to the drivers side and not to the passenger side. I don't know but it's pissing me off. It's either binding, or this little master cylinder is not strong enough to push in my 12" pressure plate. But it has to be strong enough, I can push the pedal all the way in but instead of the slave cylinder pushing the throwout bearing in, it's pushing the transmission. | |
