| On August 31, 1959, the 1960 model Pontiacs began to roll off the assembly lines at the various plants throughout the Country. Back then, the factories would close down from 4 to 6 weeks for the changeover to the new models. That means that this week or next, marks the 50th anniversary of the end of production for our beloved cars. Incidently, production of the 1959's began on September 11, 1958. A little sad that the Division that produced these and many other great automobiles is coming to such an inglorious end......John | |

| That is pretty sad. I don't get why they ditched Pontiac. Now GM is officially the most boring car company still around today. | |

| They should've ditched GMC. It's the exact same damn thing as Chevy with a different badge slapped on the nose. $0.02 | |

| I guess that it is still better than ending as a badge for small crappy korean cars - like Chevrolet is used around here as a badge for hyundai at the moment. . | |

| It's not your forum, it's me. Some people's businesses will block a website if there's profanity in it. Was just trying to keep it a bit clean. If you want me to leave it I will. | |
