| I just bought a set of fenderskirts of ebay - i wondered how they would look on my car, and i plan on having a new paintjob some time in the future (same color), so i can have them painted along with the rest of the car. If they are ever going on the car depends how they look. These fiberglass ones are obviously aftermarket, but does anyone know if these cars were ever sold with fender skirts ? | |

| It was an option, but I think they may have been a dealer thing. You can google "1959 Pontiac" and you'll see some pics with skirts. | |

| I guess it's pretty common judging from the pictures. I think it looks cool on the pictures, though it may destroy the 'sporty' look. Well, now i've paid for a set, so i guess i'm gonna find out first hand what it looks like. Thanks for your comment... | |

| Personally, I don't like the skirts. I don't think they were a factory option but maybe a dealer option. They looks OK with skirts but I think they look so much better without the skirts | |

| Purely a dealer offering. Not factory manufactured or installed. Dealers would buy them and paint them to match for a price, if you wanted. They were steel and were made by a company called "Foxcraft." You could also buy them yourself from J. C. Whitney. They still sell them, but they are now fibreglass, and don't have as good a mounting system as the old steel ones......John | |

| Thanks for all your input. I think i will have them painted to match the car - i can then try them on, and se if i like them. Judging from the pictures i would prperbly agree with you... | |
