I'm new to this but have owned my Catalina convertible since 1982. Photos are available on Flickr.com (yes spelled Flickr.)

Welcome!

Is she all original or has there been some custom work done?

Thanks for the welcome.

It is original or restored to close original. I'm just the second owner. It's been a long time coming but car presents well now. Still looking for odds & ends like: rear seat speaker grill, windshield washer reservoir & trunk light, etc.
I have not seen another 59 cat convertible in person. The car usually gets a fair amount of attention on the road or cruise-ins.

PS. Any tips on how to post pix on this site?

This process works fine for me:

Click on the "host a image" icon above.Looks like a diskette. Remember those?
Click on the file browse button that comes up.
This allows you to browse your computer for the image.
Pick the image you want to upload and click open.
Click on "host it".
Wait for the window to appear that allows you to select a "copy". 3 options.
Click on the "Image URL copy" button at the bottom of the list. On mine it's the third one down. You may have to "allow access" to do this.
Click on "host an image" icon again at the top of the page. Same one you clicked on before.
This process copies and pastes the image to the clipboard for you. Nothing happens on screen.
Click on the "image" icon at the top that is right next to the "host an image" icon that you have been using previously. It looks like a generic picture on the button.
This brings up an empty box to paste your image location into.
Click your cursor into the box and right click and paste.
Your image address should be in the box now.
Click "OK" and it will put the address into your message. If you preview now the image should appear.
Works for me!
Good luck and hope to see some pictures soon. Smile

Well, I'm only wishing this "big red sled" was mine. This is just a picture I found on the web. I love this car! What a beauty!

Maybe the admin can tell us why your pics didnt appear?
Check your directions again but if the preview showed them they should be there.

Can't get the pictures to show. I tried editing it. Robert, can you figure that one out?

Here's direct links to them though.

I wish I could say that I did the upholstery myself but I don't like lightning. I did most of the grunt work underneath it though. The car did not have seatbelts when new but the original owner installed some in the front only. I repositioned the anchor points when I replaced the floor pans. The rear seat belt anchor points are in line with seat brackets in the curved transition between floor and "vertical" portion. Had to play with it a bit with temporary fasteners to bring belts up and over the bench seat and to find right angle for proper belt support. I don't think the 59 cat came with seat belts, not sure though. Found some that I thought looked like they could have been that era. I'll attempt to post a couple of more photos.

Seat belts weren't standard until '64. I believe back seat was either '68 or '69. They were available as an option in the late 50s.
