| We recently purchased our 1959 Catalina off a guy in our town after we got outbid on ebay but the original winner backed out. We took it to a local repair shop to get some things done and had them look it over. New brakes, shocks, some studs on a couple wheels so they matched the other two. The dash lights weren't working but the guy cleaned some connections and they work now. We haven't seen anything like it when we have gone to our area shows.

| do you still have a seperate coil? I found my car would just shut down after awhile and then i replaced the coil and it hasent happened again. Nice ride, love the color combo. Do you know what size and brand shocks you used? i have to replace mine as well | |

| The invoice didn't state the specifics about the shocks. Not sure about the coil either. Sorry.... | |

| That is a sweet '59!!!! What does the interior look like?
The problem you're having starting sounds odd. I can't see it getting too hot with stock manifolds. It doesn't have headers does it? Maybe the starter is just bad altogether.
Good luck, We'll help as much as we can! | |

| Welcome to the site Lina59! Nice looking Catalina! Got anymore pics to share? We like pics. Sounds like you need a new starter. Should be no problems with heat. Perhaps it's just the coil as already stated. 59canadianponcho, I ordered all new shocks and springs from Ames Performance and . | |
