I know there were more made in the states but do you guys see any around down there? Ive tried to find the production #s on the canadian ones but all i could find was 11,000 or so but im not sure if thats right, and is that for all production including the ones shipped overseas? Anybody have any info? cant find any info on the net.

| I've asked around for production numbers on '59 Canadian Pontiacs but no luck.
I know total '59 Pontiacs was around 383,000 which is not that many. The only '59 Pontiacs I've ever seen first hand is mine, 1 (bonneville) at a junk yard in Devine, Texas half cut up, 1 in Columbus, Tx at Daley Salvage(Star Chief), 1 In Denton, Texas at CTC Autoranch(Star Chief), and 1 on the way to New Mexico (I think we were still in Texas) it was a Catalina. It was a green 4 door sedan with factory AC sitting outside a tire shop or somethin. It was like 6AM so no one was home.
So I guess in the 5 or so years I've been into cars I've only seen a handful of '59 Pontiacs.
And for what it's worth, on Buick-59.com someone estimated there only being 5-10% of 59 Buicks left (meaning parts car or better). I need to sign up with POCI to try to get more members so I can start a registry.

| starchief_59.....I belong to two local POCI chapters. A small one (about 30 members) in South Jersey with 6 59's; 3 Bonneville coupes, 2 Catalina 4dr sedans, and my Catalina convertible. The other club in southeastern Pennsylvania, with about 80-100 members has two that I know of; a Bonneville coupe and a Bonneville convertible. I know of three others between New York City and Wilmington Del. One of our members here could tell you how many are listed with POCI.......John | |

| I got a list of emails of 59 pontiac owners that someone sent me from POCI. I emailed every single one of them on the 120+ list a few months back. I think in the days following the emails I sent we only got maybe 3 new members. Oh well, I tried. | |

| I have these numbers in the info section
Total: 382,940
Catalina: 2111 Sport Sedan 2-dr sedan : 26,102 2137 2-door hardtop : 38,309 2119 4-door sedan : 72,377 2139 Vista 4-door hardtop : 45,012 2167 convertible : 14,515 2135 Safari station wagon, 6-pass : 21,162 2145 Safari station wagon, 9-pass : 14,084
Custom Star Chief: 2111 Sport Sedan 2-door sedan : 10,254 2419 4-door sedan : 27,872 2439 Vista 4-door hardtop : 30,689
Bonneville Custom: 2837 2-door hardtop : 27,769 2839 Vista 4-door hardtop : 38,696 2867 convertible : 11,426 2735 Safari station wagon, 6-pass : 4,673
In addition, 380 Star Chief/Bonneville chassis's were used for professional car construction (hearse, ambulance, etc)- I am pretty certain this is in addition to the numbers above.

| Kind of cool to see how many were actually made and how many are left on the road (not many).
Also neat to see the Star Chief is the rarest of them all. Almost 14,000 less units than the Bonneville and 163,000 units less than the Catalina.

| Yeah, and they made less body styles than Bonnevilles and Catalinas. I'd really love to buy CreepJohnny's Star Chief 2 Door Sedan! I think the Bonneville 2 dr hts are too long and the 2 dr ht roof makes the roof look too small. But the Sedan roof line makes it more proportional. Just my personal ppinion | |

| I thought the Star Chief and Bonneville were the same length. I know my Star Chief is longer than the sedan Catalina. | |

| The wheel base is the same but there is no Bonneville 2 door sedan, only 2 door hard tops | |
