when removing the sill plates and other misc. exterior chrome trim peices around the windows the backs of the trim peices are caked with this grey clay like stuff. I know its prolly for sealing up the car from the rain. question is whats its name and do i need to buy a newer version of the stuff and fill these areas when i put the trim back on after paint?

I would think 3m probaly makes it for modern use?? or weatherstripping applications.

Mine was the same-I just took abit to my local glass shop and they sold me a tube of whatever the current type is theyre now using. No leaks so far. It is different than the 3M weatherstripping glue in that it stays pliable unlike the glue which hardens. Sounds like youre making good progress! Did you end up lowering the front end?

I put the lowering springs in the back....car sat way to low......i added 1" spacer to the top of the spring, added air shocks and the back ride height is adjustable and perfect. I have a small clunck sound in the front end going over bumps......where sould I start?? after I get the correct bushings, ball joints changed then i will cut a round out of the factory shocks and that should give me the 1" that im after. any suggestions on the clunking sound??

Im guessing once you tear down and rebuild the front end the clunk will disappear. Cutting coils from what Ive read on the hamb sometimes takes a few trys, but one coil seems like a good starting point. Where are you getting your components from? Kanter?

I havent yet begun to start my research on where to buy front end parts. right now am changing out the roof rail weatherstripping, I took off one peice of exterior trim and then that lead me to pull another and another and now im wanting to remove all the chrome around the roof so I can repaint the roof cameo Ivory, has anyone read this ever removed these trim peices?

Couple a months ago I installed Kanter's front end kit, everything fittet fine, and chassis works great. And that kit was cheaper, regular one.
Also I've removed those flattop outer rims, and got installed back too.. what you need to know about installation?
