Taken from a small riverboat..

The Germans just loves the car, comming to get their picture taken with it, and asking all kinds of questions. Aparently there are very few old cars in Germany, let alone American cars. We did meet a few German oldtimers though.
If i park next to a large merc. or a Porche i definatly get all the attention - lets face it, even new luxury cars look kind of boring next to a 50+ years old Pontiac, and that is pretty cool Cool .

Pretty Cool! It stans out like sore thumb! I took my '59 Catalina to a church sponsored car show today. It was parked between a '23 T-Bucket and a '51 Chevy business coupe, the latter being almost completely restored. People coming from either direction would walk right past the other two cars and center right on mine, asking questions about the car and it's history. I was even interviewed by a camera crew that was on hand. Not sure where they were from, but they did stick around for about 10 mins. When they were done they walked to the other side of the show and talked to a guy with an original Roadrunner and then left! The guy with the '51 Chev was trying to get their attention, it was comical because the interviewer said to him "Your car is beautiful" and walked away!

I love that picture. You just can't hide chrome, heh. The '59's have the most attitude of the early big cars. And it is kind of surprisng that many people walking thru a car show do not always know what kind of car they are looking at at that monent. But very seldom that they don't know a Pontiac when they see it. They're an icon. Mark L
