Went to the Rt 66 Mother Road car show today and not one 1959 Pontiac. There were over 1200 car's there. The only Pontiac I saw was some mid 60 GTO's.

Yep, that is a shame.

Just came home from this years notorious 'after burner' and of season meet/open house at the car club that i am a member of. Think we had about 50 cars + other visitors. One of the new things at the club is a burn out pit with concrete slabs. I was determined not to do it, but after some i just had to try, and i am happy to report that Cooker classic's makes real decent smoke. .
Another tradition is to do an engine burnout on a car from a local scrapyard (full throttle - no water), and do a little betting about how long it lasts before the engine dies. This year it almost turned into a car burnout, when the damn thing (a ford escort) caught fire when the catalyser overheated and ignited a fire under the car, which quickly spread to the engine and cabin. . A friend og mine has some video - i will try to post it if i get my hands on it. We caught it with extinguishers and a waterhose in the very last minute.

Anyway it was great fun, but today i have to deal with my own little 'after burner' .....

Drove 4 hours round trip to a junkyard in Williams Ca. and pulled some parts off of a 59 4 door Catalina. YAY!!

Drivers side inner fenders (battery acid got to them), water pump (to be rebuilt for a spare), valve covers (one of mine had a good size dent, couldn't remember which one, so I took both), rear passenger side eyebrow trim piece positioned over the taillight, front drums (almost impossible to find anymore), various clips and bolts that were broken, missing, or snapped during the removal process on my ride. Wow sounds like you made out pretty well. There's a guy about 7 hours north of me selling 2 59s for $1200. I just of want to grab them just to have them. Maybe use one for parts and IDK what with the other. But extra parts is always a good idea

If you do get them i would like to buy a few parts from you..

haha ya. there is a parts car about an hour away from me that i was going to go rip stuff off of but the guy and i both have wacky schedules and i cant ever have a chance to meet up with him. oh well haha

What parts do you need?

well, mostly sheet metal. like, the back section that the tail lights sit in was in a bender once and the repair job was crooked and shoty. i swear theres more bondo on that corner then i've ever even used in my life. but its okay i'm not going to mess with it to much unless i decide to just completely replace it (which i might). i need the passanger door latch, and window tracks and glass for front pass, just the glass for the back pass door.... both are cracked. just that kinda stuff
