Only direct bolt on manifolds for '59 are '59 and '60. If you want to go to a newer manifold you need to swap heads and due to the front water jackets and reverse cooling system you also need to swap timing cover.

I saw a few tripowers on ebay - they all look incomplete, and it says carbs needs rebuild. Also usually there is no aircleaner, and i read that using unoriginal aircleaners is a great fire risk... They are also pretty expensive !

Fire risk? From what? Screw that, I wouldn't pay $700 for an air cleaner! I don't see how it's a fire hazard on a good running and leak free motor.

If chevy guys can make non tri power carbs work on a tri power manifold, then we can too. I'm gunna do it

Mine came with the original air cleaner when I bought it 10 years ago. Paid $1,100 for everything and I have the original aluminum carb tags also. Recently sold the air cleaner on ebay and got $800 for it. I swapped out to 3 singles with K&Ns and my overheating issues were done with. That damn air cleaner is so big it doesn't let any heat escape the engine. I also installed an original fan shroud but that's another story. Smile

haha Hell yeah! Sounds like you got a good deal! I think the individual air cleaners look cooler anyway
