I think I heard somewhere that high rpms are needed because of the generator setup. Car starts fine after the initial jump-start as long as I don't go too long between starts.

The other day on the way home from work my directionals quit working. Everything seemed to be working mechanically in the column so I figured it had to be electrical. I remove the switch from the steering column and it slides back and forth fairly easily. Ok, must be a contact problem so I decide to pull the switch apart (Bingo, there's the mistake). When I do there's springs, plates, and ball bearings that go flying all over the garage. Well, I ...

I'm tryin to get my MSD box to work. It says to hook the red wire from the box up to the ignition wire. According to the manual the ignition 1 wire is pruple and ignition 2 is black. The black one does not get power when I turn on the key. The pruple one does. So I hooked the red wire up to the purple wire but i am still not getting power at the coil. I was told I should hook the black one and the pruple one together. I don't see how that will help though since I have no power at the black wire.
