Well guys. I found this for my gasser build. I wanted to do the '59 or '60 Catalina but this popped up and for the money it really fits the build. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvoeeq-BH4w This is really solid and the owner really wanted to get it out of his yard so he offered it to me for $1600, I couldn't pass it up. I just wanted to thank you all for welcoming me into the fold here, and I will be dropping in once in a while to see what's happening. I'm still going to be on the ...

Did anyone see the white 59 Pontiac wagon for sale last week on e-bay? The body was pretty good (only some surface rust) but the motor was locked up, left rear passenger floor board rusted out, no keys to vehicle, no title, windshield busted, right front side window busted, and the interior needed much help. The wagon had been sitting for about 20 years so I'm sure the fuel and brake system are wasted as well. The starting bid was $999.00 and I bid $1009.00 but it didn't meet the reserve.
What a small world we sometimes live in.

My buddy Herbie and I went to our first Cruise Night last Wednesday night at a local Big Dipper Ice Cream. Driving in to the lot some guy walked right out in front of me and I had to stop to keep from hitting him. He was back to me watching Herbies 1962 Galaxie drive by. I stopped and blew the horn at him. He turned to me, then walked over to my drivers window and leaned in and said "I used to own this car"! I said, "your kidding me right"? ...

Last Thanksgiving my cousins took some of my aunt's old photos and made her a scrap book. As I was looking through the scrap book I noticed a green '59 Safari wagon in the back ground of a few pics. I remembered my dad always talked about his dad's old station wagon. I asked him about the car in the pics and he said "That's it!" How could he not know it was a '59 Pontiac? There's been a '59 Pontiac in his garage for almost 4 years now!

ANYWAY, He found a better picture of it.

I went to a local car show today and about fainted because there was ANOTHER 59 Pontiac there! I seldom see another one and here was a beauty Star Chief. Turns out the owner hasn't had it but a few weeks... says he went to Indiana to get it.

Unbelievably, the odometer showed less than 20,000 miles! The owner says that it was actual mileage. The car appeared to still have original paint and interior. Very, very clean.

Told him about this website... hopefully he'll join.

Last month the local POCI club had a Buick Olds Pontiac Show. Some very nice rides.. turn-out was a little light though. My 59 won First in my class... didn't get too excited though... there were only 3 in my class! Haha

They had a lot of classes, GTOs, modified, semi-modified, mid size, etc.

Here are some links (hopefully.)

A few weeks ago I went to a popular cruise-in that is about 45 minutes from where I live. There were about 100-120 vehicles of all types and condition, but most in very fine shape. Much to my surprise my 59 was selected as "Pick of the Week". I think mine was picked mainly because I was some new "blood' . I say that because there were SCORES of much finer vehicles there so I didn't let it go to my head. Have to admit though it was nice to get some special recognition among ...

I'm trying to order my front stabilizer bar bushing/ mounts but I don't know the size of the bar. I'm thinking it's 11/16s or 3/4. Can anyone take a 3/4 and an 11/16 open end wrench and see which diameter that bar is? Thanks

Some of you may know I have a fondness for 1940s-70s transit buses and trolleys as well as cars. So in looking at vintage pics of them and there's Ponchos as well as any other cars I like near by, I save the pics.

On to the pics!

If you like these, I'll post pics of other ponchos and such as I find them...

I have 215/70s on mine right now. I guess that measures out to about 26-27" tall and 7-8" wide. They fit in there OK.

The cheater slicks I got are 28" tall and 8" wide and they don't fit. haha There is enough room under the car but not enough to squeeze them in between the drum and the fender well lip.

Just curious how big yall are running. I think my shocks being wrong are the problem. Maybe not. I'm going to swap shocks and see if that helps.

Just got back from a holiday in Sweden - malmö. Another 800 miles without a hitch, and getting lots of thumps up everywhere. I just love when the other caravan pullers have to gear down to get up the hills - i just pull it up without loosing any speed, and the engine sounds like a little monkey with a large pack of firecrackers. Not a single misfire - the sound just goes from flop flop flop to bang bang bang - wonderful sound. I have had problems with engine detonation when pulling like that, ...

Last Tuesday Herb and I went to the Cumberland House of Pizza Cruise Night and there was a great crowd. Over 100 cars and it was done very nicely. The MC on the mic was a lovely young lady dressed out of the 1950's with the poodle skirt, black/white shoes and even poodle socks. Lookin like she just came in to the hop.

I have disconnected my heater core since it stopped working and i am finally at a place where i can spend some time trying to fix it. Anyone have suggestions of where to begin, how to remove, what to look for.
i would really appreciate it.
